The Self-employed Persons Program for Athletes allows people to immigrate to Canada permanently as self-employed persons.
Have relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics and
Be willing and able to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada.
This category is for those who have the intention and ability to create employment for themselves in an area where they will also make a significant contribution to the cultural, sporting, or agricultural development of Canada.
Possess relevant experience that will allow you to contribute significantly to cultural life or sport in Canada;
Possess experience in the agricultural area and have the intention and ability to acquire and operate a farm or farm in Canada.
The applicant’s experience is very important; You will be required to have a minimum of two years of experience in the course of the 5 years immediately preceding the application date.
The practice of any of the following activities is considered experience:
Participation in cultural or sports activities at the international level;
The career as a self-employed worker in activities of an artistic, cultural, and sports nature, such as library science, artistic curatorship, public relations, literature, artistic and choreographic production, music, singing, dance, acting, painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, broadcasting, speech, athletics, athlete training, and refereeing.
Typical examples of freelance arts and culture workers are the following professionals: writers, painters, sculptors, visual artists, playwrights and theater people, musicians, designers, artisans, film professionals, and industry technical support workers cinematographic.
In addition, the candidate must comply with other requirements, such as taking medical examinations, presenting proof that they comply with the security controls of the Canadian government, and showing that they have sufficient savings to cover their financial needs and those of their family members during their stay in Canada.
Likewise, he must demonstrate that he has the necessary money to develop the economic activities of his area of expertise.
The candidate must be evaluated using the points system for business people. You will be required to score at least 35 points.
Applicants must meet the following three criteria to immigrate to Canada as self-employed in athletics. If the applicant does not meet any of the following requirements, they will not receive Canadian permanent residence
They must meet all the requirements of a self-employed applicant (i.e. relevant experience, intention and ability, and elements of significant contribution).
They must acquire at least 35 points out of 100 points. (See below)
Must not be inadmissible to Canada due to safety, criminality, financial issues, or medical problems (both the applicant and dependent family members).
The following points apply to this group of applicants:
Education: up to 25 points.
Work experience: up to 35 points.
Age: up to 10 points
Proficiency in English or French: up to 24 points
Adaptability: up to 6 points.
If a person has five years of self-employment experience, they will receive the required minimum of 35 points and will not require points from the other categories.
Regarding proficiency in English and French, any request from an individual regarding their level of proficiency must be accompanied by acceptable test results, such as IELTS General or CELPIP for the English language and TEF for the French language.
